BETHEL CT, P. T. BARNUM 200th BIRTHDAY, PARADE, P. T. BARNUM STATUE SCULPTURE, ELEPHANT DECORATING CONTEST:
The Bethel Historical Society, sculptor David Gesualdi, town and state officials and residents celebrated the 200th anniversary of P.T. Barnum’s birth year with a new statue that was dedicated on September 26, 2010. A huge parade followed, and prizes were given for the best elephants in the elephant decorating contest.
